Nadal out of Paris

Rafael Nadal has announced his withdrawal from the Paris Open for the second year running

Rafa cited a need for more time to prepare for the ATP World Tour finals at the end of the year in London as the reason for his pulling out.

“It’s been a difficult decision to take but I understand that it is what I need to do right now to prepare well for the end of this season and also for 2012,” said Nadal on Facebook.

Rafa had also pulled out of the Paris Masters last year – as one of the players to have played more than 600 matches on the ATP Tour in his career, he is allowed to miss one Masters event each year without penalties.

Roger Federer intends to play in Paris still.
