Mirka serves twice – the Federer’s have twins!

Congratulations to Mirka and Roger, who gave birth to twin girls, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva.

Roger said that their birth was the “best day of his life”.

So if you though the Williams sisters were something, then wait until we see the “Federer twins” on the courts in a few years…!

Rafa and Roger both to play in Montreal? We hope so!

Rogers Cup - August 8-16, 2009

Organizers of the Rogers Cup in Montreal have said that they are still hoping that both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will be able to play next month.

According to the director of the tournament, Eugene Lapierre, he had head from Nadal’s team that Rafa (the defending champion) would be ready!

Meanwhile, it is not injury, but baby that may stop Roger – Mirka is expecting to give birth at about tournament starting time, so Federer has not yet given final confirmation of playing.

I am sure Rafa will be itching those undies and ready to get back on court. He’ll be keen to start the hard grind to win back his number one ranking, and prepare for his one missing slam, the US Open.

Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick are also expected to play, so this could be a goody!

Fingers crossed.

Wimbledon Final 2009 – Federer vs Roddick – Live TV

Update, Federer won 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 16-14

Roger Federer will play Andy Roddick today, in what could be an absolutely historic day. If he wins, Federer will:

- Overtake Pete Sampras’s all-time mark of 14 Grand Slams
- Regain from Rafael Nadal the ATP Number One position

But Andy (not the Andy we had expected!) will have other plans -this will be no cakewalk for Federer. My prediction is that Roger’s sharp form of late will be good enough to overpower the American, and that he will win in straight sets.

Wimbledon Semifinal 2009 – Federer vs Haas – Live TV

Update, game over, Federer won 7-6 (7-3) 7-5 6-3

Roger Federer will play Tommy Haas today, in what is something of a renaissance period for th e German. Although Federer has a strong 9-2 winning record he will remember with trepidation the tight challenge Haas put up in Roland Garros, where the Swiss had to come back from two sets down to take the match.
